Summary: Responsible for maintaining supplies and planning/preparing meals at the Halfway House to ensure a healthy and nutritionally balanced diet for all residents.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.)

Duties/Responsibilities: Prepares meals to meet nutritional guidelines. Cleans kitchen equipment and appliances daily, ensures that table is set, dishes cleared, dishwasher stacked and unstacked following each meal. Inventories freezer and storeroom, places weekly grocery order with food distributor, working within established budget guidelines, processes shipment upon receipt.

Summary: Responsible for assisting counselors in identifying individual client needs, learning to design effective treatment and aftercare plans, while providing individual and group counseling sessions to clientele.

Must obtain Rule 25 Assessor Certification within six (6) months of hire. Must have CPR certification or obtained within the first 90 days of employment.

Duties/Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Lead Counselor, the counselor trainee schedules introductory meetings, conducts initial orientation, and educates clientele about requirements of remaining in compliant with house rules, regulations, policies, and procedures etc. Assist Lead Counselors in assessing needs of the client through intake, while identifying family, environmental, social, and legal issues that are current.

Summary: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the Twin Cities office.

Education/Experience: Minimum 2-year higher education in Business or related field. High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). One year or more of supervisory experience. Three years’ administrative work experience and/or experience that are commensurate with training and experience requirements. Excellent experience with Microsoft – Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

Duties/Responsibilities: Screen calls/visitors for Director by routing appropriately and/or responding as needed. Organize and maintain an efficient mail, phone and coordinate meeting schedule system for Human Services Division programs. Prepare letters and memos of Division Director as directed. Coordinate meetings, trainings and conferences for Human Services Division.

Summary: The Foster Care Coordinator has the responsibility to ensure that Leech Lake licensed foster care homes have policies in place and are in compliance with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Licensing Requirements for Foster Care.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a Public Administration or Human Services related field.
Two years’ experience in administration and/or program development. Two years of supervisory experience. Two years’ experience in planning service delivery activities for American Indian children and families.

Duties/Responsibilities: Become knowledgeable of the current Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Licensing Requirements for Foster Care. Participate in planning, problem solving and implementation of program services working closely with management to ensure effective delivery of services. Review budget forecasts and be familiar with financial needs to services offered.

Summary: The Data Coordinator is responsible for the directions of a comprehensive Band Wide population and service statistics research and projection program, which will serve as the official basis for Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe long-range planning.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Administration is preferred; 2 years A.A. or at least 2 years of experience in related fields will be considered as the minimum requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities: Continuously gathers and develops demographic and service data within the Band. Designs and tests methods of research and data collection. Annually prepares population projections for the Band and its designated, divisions, agencies and other component units and periodically prepares projections for each political geographic division.

Summary: To develop, plan, conduct and monitor criminal and administrative investigations. To detect and reveal criminal violations, internal misconduct and illegal operations/activities and prevent and neutralize crimes through enforcement, creating awareness of laws, internal controls and security.

Education/Experience: Must have successfully completed; Basic Police Program and Investigator Training. Five (5) years law enforcement experience with additional trainings/certifications as applicable to position.

Duties/Responsibilities: Conducting investigations with the collection of evidence involving developing and following leads. Analyze raw investigative data and prepare comprehensive reports. Conduct interviews pertaining to investigations. Taking statements in note form or recorded.

Duties/Responsibilities: Plan a wide range of diverse activities for youth that will consist of recreational sports, health, fitness, cultural, education and prevention programming. Excellent administrative and supervisory skills with the ability to work effectively with families and a large number of staff.

Duties/Responsibilities: Meet weekly with management staff for planning, review and update purposes. Ensures compliance to policies and operating procedures based on guidance from all government status, regulations, transmittal notices and memorandums pertaining to the Head Start Program. Assist in designing, coordinating and updating the community assessment and developing goals and options based on the resulting information.

Duties/Responsibilities: Become familiar with the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Human Services programs and social service agencies in surrounding counties. Develop an Individual Treatment Plan for clients based on their Diagnostic Assessment. Complete Progress Notes, ITP reviews and Discharge Summaries within the time frame required. Develop and facilitate client support and skills building sessions. Provide transportation when needed.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or 4 to 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities: Supervise and monitors activities and satisfied reporting requirements. Proceeds on own initiative with little guidance. Conducts training sessions on accounts payable issues as needed. Review accounts payable documents prepared by subordinates for accuracy, completeness and conformance to policy, authorizes for payment. Summary: Provides legal advocacy to the Leech Lake Child Welfare Department, including legal representation for the Band in Tribal Court and State Court, review of contracts, and negotiations with the State of Minnesota, Department of Human Services, and County Governments.

Education/Experience: Juris Doctorate Degree. Prior attorney experience preferred. Must have a good Indian Law background and understanding of how Public Law 280 relates to tribal jurisdiction and rights and be able to identify opportunities to expand/recover treaty/jurisdictional right for the Band. Experience with Child Protection (CHIPS) experience with emphasis on the Indian Child Welfare Act preferred. Experience working with American Indian children and families. Experience working with Tribal and/or District court systems. Experience in Microsoft Office applications and case management software.

Duties/Responsibilities: Defend and prosecute on behalf of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in all actions arising under the jurisdiction of the Leech Lake Tribal Court, other state and federal district courts and forums. Provide legal advice and guidance for tribal government administration, program development, tribal businesses and other cases as assigned by the Legal Director.

Summary: This position will provide Intake and Assessment services to children and adults who are in need of mental health services and reside on or near the Leech Lake Reservation.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field. Prefer Licensed Social Worker. Completion of Target Case Manager training within one year of hire.

Duties/Responsibilities: Receives referrals for needed mental health services from a variety of sources, including self-referrals, child welfare, schools, and inpatient hospitals. Provides program specific information to potential clients and referring sources. Screens calls for needed crisis intervention services and consults with clinical supervisor or Mental Health Professional regarding appropriate course of action. Assists children and adults in obtaining a comprehensive diagnostic assessment to determine necessary services to improve client’s mental wellbeing and overall functioning.

Duties/Responsibilities: Prepares; news stories, press releases, media advisories and features for newspaper publication, website and other sources of media. Create and publish media for divisions, businesses and programs. Writing copy for publication on a tight deadline. Interviewing people in a wide range of circumstances. Follow events and lobby actions that affect “Indian Country”.

Summary: Works with women (prenatal and post-partum) at the highest risk for having poor birth outcomes; providing home visits, acting as a referral source for clients, making physical assessments, screening for risk factors and setting goals for the client with follow-up made through the first three years of the child’s life.

Education/Experience: Licensed Registered Nursing or Public Health Nursing Certification is required. Prefer experience in Public Health but are willing to train for position.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provide high quality health care services and ensure accessibility and availability of health services. Provides services for identified prenatal population of the Leech Lake Reservation.

Summary: Services are based on individual, child, and family needs and are offered at varying levels of involvement, such as crisis intervention, individual and family counseling sessions, school based services, family and community support services, and mental health assessments.

Education/Experience: Master Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field and on track for licensure as a Mental Health Professional. Licensed Graduate Social Worker (L.G.S.W.) or Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Accepts and follow through with referral, evaluates client physical and/or mental condition based on review of client information. Administers assessment tools for diagnosis to understand client psychological needs and identify appropriate client services under the supervision of a mental health professional.

Summary: Responsible for providing direct mental health services, including psychotherapy, with an emphasis on individuals and families, using various treatment modalities and skills to produce social, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being. May provide clinical supervision and coordinate grant funded therapeutic activities.

Education/Experience: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, or Social Work and three (3) years’ experience in the mental health field required. Must be a Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) required. Must be eligible for tribal licensure within 3 months of hire required.

Duties/Responsibilities: Completes initial assessment and reviews client history, including medical and family background and related environment. Provides comprehensive DSM standard diagnostic assessment. Certified or eligible to become certified to provide DC 0-3 assessments for children ages four and under.

Summary: Responsible for preforming duties in a community based clinical setting related to the certification of clients for the Minnesota Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The Nutrition Counselor will also be responsible for offering support, education about breastfeeding, and nutrition.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in any of the following: nutritional sciences; community nutrition; clinical nutrition; dietetics; public health nutrition; or related field. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Diet Technician Registered (DTR) required. Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Minnesota, or ability to attain licensure in Minnesota within 60 days, will also be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities: Duties would include assessments, counseling, referrals, promotion, and education in breastfeeding and nutrition. Conduct certifications for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up 5 years of age. Take anthropometric measurements of WIC participants. Accurately assess nutritional needs and make recommendations consistent with sound nutritional practice and client’s ability to implement.

Summary: Responsible for providing diagnoses, medication, and med management for LL Behavioral Health clients, ages 7-adult, as well as providing education and outreach when requested and approved by supervisor.

Education/Experience: Masters or doctoral prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and/or nurse practitioner program in psychiatric mental health. MN State Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license. Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified or Physician Assistant (PA) license and Registration by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. One year or more of mental health care experience preferred in tribally operated or Indian Health Service Programs.

Duties/Responsibilities: Screen and assess LLBH Clients. Prescribe medication and monitor its effectiveness. Have a current plan of care in the medical record and complete notes in a timely manner. Consult with other medical and clinical providers on a routine basis.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provides group oriented patient education. Creates plan of action for each client/family served. Provides skilled nursing care under physician’s orders.
