Summary: This position supervises resident compliances with program rules and regulations during counselor absence and provides approved transportation for residents.

Duties/Responsibilities: Cook, wash dishes, grocery shopping and clean upstairs area for clients when cook is not available. Distribute, monitor and document clients prescribed medication. Monitors, supervises and documents daily resident activities and behaviors. Provides active support to residents’ sobriety goals. Provide supervision of household tasks ensuring premises and grounds are maintained, well-balanced meals are prepared and periodic changes of linen are available. Assign resident’s job duties.

Summary: Assure timely reports are filed with funding agencies so that funding continues on schedule; cash forecasting and daily balance reporting; monthly cash flow reporting.

Duties/Responsibilities: Post journal entries to general, revenue and expense ledgers. Post data into subsidiary ledgers. Utilize Excel to reconcile, summarize and interpret data. Summary: Provides legal advocacy to the Leech Lake Child Welfare Department, including legal representation for the Band in Tribal Court and State Court, review of contracts, and negotiations with the State of Minnesota, Department of Human Services, and County Governments.

Education/Experience: Juris Doctorate Degree. Prior attorney experience preferred. Must have a good Indian Law background and understanding of how Public Law 280 relates to tribal jurisdiction and rights and be able to identify opportunities to expand/recover treaty/jurisdictional right for the Band. Experience with Child Protection (CHIPS) experience with emphasis on the Indian Child Welfare Act preferred. Experience working with American Indian children and families. Experience working with Tribal and/or District court systems. Experience in Microsoft Office applications and case management software.

Duties/Responsibilities: Defend and prosecute on behalf of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in all actions arising under the jurisdiction of the Leech Lake Tribal Court, other state and federal district courts and forums. Provide legal advice and guidance for tribal government administration, program development, tribal businesses and other cases as assigned by the Legal Director.

Summary: Police Officers protect life and property, preserve the peace, prevent offenses, detect and apprehend offenders and help those in need of assistance.

Education/Experience: No previous Law Enforcement experience required. Must have successfully completed; Basic Police Training Program and/or program provided by a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Duties/Responsibilities: Enforcement of Federal Laws, State of Minnesota Statutes and traffic laws, Beltrami, Cass, Hubbard and Itasca County laws, Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Laws and Ordinances including Traffic Code, Curfew. Promote crime prevention and undertake community-policing activities to improve quality of community life. Summary: Responsible for planning and implementing activities for youth in the area of sports and recreation, health and fitness, cultural and youth educational programming.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) is required. Two years’ experience working with youth is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Plan a wide range of diverse activities for youth that will consist of recreational sports, health, fitness, cultural, education and prevention programming. Implement programs and trainings or identify instructors and resources to accommodate these programs. Schedule youth programs in all required areas and age groups. Programming will require the working of evenings, weekends and holidays to address youth interest.

Summary: Provide service, support, education and medication to Native Americans with opiate addiction on the Leech Lake Reservation.

Education/Experience: Associate’s Degree, LPN, required. Diploma-LPN, preferred. 2 years’ hospital or clinic experience preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Administers medication as prescribed, monitors for side effects; disposes of medications in compliance with regulations. Must monitor staff immunizations and set up needed yearly shots for staff. Must have accuracy in documentation of all records. Works cooperatively with other staff and members of the treatment team. Assists in ordering medication and supplies needed in the Nursing Department. Assists the treatment team with client’s plan of recovery.

Summary: This position will provide Intake and Assessment services to children and adults who are in need of mental health services and reside on or near the Leech Lake Reservation.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field. Prefer Licensed Social Worker. Completion of Target Case Manager training within one year of hire.

Duties/Responsibilities: Receives referrals for needed mental health services from a variety of sources, including self-referrals, child welfare, schools, and inpatient hospitals. Provides program specific information to potential clients and referring sources. Screens calls for needed crisis intervention services and consults with clinical supervisor or Mental Health Professional regarding appropriate course of action. Assists children and adults in obtaining a comprehensive diagnostic assessment to determine necessary services to improve client’s mental wellbeing and overall functioning.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Enroll in and attain an Infant/Toddler CDA within first year of employment.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with preparation of weekly lesson plans, material needs, monthly newsletters, etc. Plan appropriate activities based on each individual child’s needs. Utilize developmentally appropriate practices and guidance. Effectively mainstream children with special needs into the program and utilize Developmentally Appropriate Practices & guidance.

Summary: Responsible for performing various functions in the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe’s Land Department as it relates to surface and subsurface leasing, permitting and rights-of-way, land acquisition and disposal, trust estates, planning and implementation of land use ordinances; in order to maximize utilization of Indian lands, generate revenue, assure all land transactions are advantageous to the Indian landowner and promote trust land consolidation activities.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or two years’ professional experience in land related field.

Duties/Responsibilities: Consult and cooperate with the Land Use Committee during its study of the Reservation’s land use needs and development of the Official Tribal Land Use Comprehensive Plan and development of the official Tribal Land Use Map. Provide a monthly report listing all permits applied for and the status of each to the Land Use Committee. Issue or deny Building Permits according to the provisions of this Ordinance.

Duties/Responsibilities: Implementing Treatment As a State (TAS) for Water Quality and exerting Tribal Sovereignty Prepare, implement and maintain all appropriate Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans Participate in the preparation of reports on collected data. Supervise and participate in the development of water quality studies and monitoring programs, including analyses of water samples by other agency laboratories.

Summary: Assist in the daily operations of the program including supporting youth and facilitating coordination of the education, construction, case management, life skills, job placement and leadership components of the program to meet YouthBuild participant needs.

Education/Experience: Minimum of three years’ professional journey level construction experience required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and First Aid and CPR training preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Work with the YouthBuild Coordinator to strengthen local relationships and develop partnerships for further broadening YouthBuild participant opportunities. Coordinate with Leech Lake programs and entities to develop a detailed construction plan and schedule, material needs and other information as required and keep them informed of construction progress and challenges. Identify leadership development and community service opportunities located within the Leech Lake community.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Enroll in and attain a CDA within first year of employment. CDL recommended to obtain and will be compensated for acquiring.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with preparation of weekly lesson plans, material needs, monthly newsletters, etc. Utilize developmentally appropriate practices and guidance. Effectively mainstream children with special needs into the program and utilize Developmentally Appropriate Practices & guidance.

Summary: Works with women (prenatal and post-partum) at the highest risk for having poor birth outcomes; providing home visits, acting as a referral source for clients, making physical assessments, screening for risk factors and setting goals for the client with follow-up made through the first three years of the child’s life.

Education/Experience: Licensed Registered Nursing or Public Health Nursing Certification is required. Prefer experience in Public Health but are willing to train for position.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provide high quality health care services and ensure accessibility and availability of health services. Provides services for identified prenatal population of the Leech Lake Reservation.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provide transportation to medical appointments for dialysis, cancer, elder, diabetic and handicapped clients. Provide monitoring and assessment on a daily basis through home contacts in individual service areas.

Summary: Services are based on individual, child, and family needs and are offered at varying levels of involvement, such as crisis intervention, individual and family counseling sessions, school based services, family and community support services, and mental health assessments.

Education/Experience: Master Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field and on track for licensure as a Mental Health Professional. Licensed Graduate Social Worker (L.G.S.W.) or Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Accepts and follow through with referral, evaluates client physical and/or mental condition based on review of client information. Administers assessment tools for diagnosis to understand client psychological needs and identify appropriate client services under the supervision of a mental health professional.

Summary: Responsible for providing direct mental health services, including psychotherapy, with an emphasis on individuals and families, using various treatment modalities and skills to produce social, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being. May provide clinical supervision and coordinate grant funded therapeutic activities.

Education/Experience: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, Counseling, or Social Work and three (3) years’ experience in the mental health field required. Must be a Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) required. Must be eligible for tribal licensure within 3 months of hire required.

Duties/Responsibilities: Completes initial assessment and reviews client history, including medical and family background and related environment. Provides comprehensive DSM standard diagnostic assessment. Certified or eligible to become certified to provide DC 0-3 assessments for children ages four and under.

Summary: Responsible for preforming duties in a community based clinical setting related to the certification of clients for the Minnesota Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. The Nutrition Counselor will also be responsible for offering support, education about breastfeeding, and nutrition.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in any of the following: nutritional sciences; community nutrition; clinical nutrition; dietetics; public health nutrition; or related field. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Diet Technician Registered (DTR) required. Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Minnesota, or ability to attain licensure in Minnesota within 60 days, will also be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities: Duties would include assessments, counseling, referrals, promotion, and education in breastfeeding and nutrition. Conduct certifications for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up 5 years of age. Take anthropometric measurements of WIC participants. Accurately assess nutritional needs and make recommendations consistent with sound nutritional practice and client’s ability to implement.

Summary: Responsible for providing diagnoses, medication, and med management for LL Behavioral Health clients, ages 7-adult, as well as providing education and outreach when requested and approved by supervisor.

Education/Experience: Masters or doctoral prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and/or nurse practitioner program in psychiatric mental health. MN State Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (NP) license. Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified or Physician Assistant (PA) license and Registration by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice. One year or more of mental health care experience preferred in tribally operated or Indian Health Service Programs.

Duties/Responsibilities: Screen and assess LLBH Clients. Prescribe medication and monitor its effectiveness. Have a current plan of care in the medical record and complete notes in a timely manner. Consult with other medical and clinical providers on a routine basis.

Summary: Provides Public Health Nursing (PHN) services to Native American clients on the Leech Lake Reservation

Education/Experience: Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required; Minnesota State Licensure preferred. Minnesota Licensure must be obtained within 1 year of employment, if Licensure is from another State. Experience in Public Health setting is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provides group oriented patient education. Creates plan of action for each client/family served. Provides skilled nursing care under physician’s orders.

Summary: To provide assistance, guidance, and support to the programs sponsored by the Leech Lake Tribal Council in the areas of community and development, as well as grant writing and management.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in: planning, business or public administration or related field. Experience in grant writing, grant management, program planning and program administration. Experience in tribal government preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for initiating research, conducting studies, developing plans and strategies for Reservation development projects.
