Summary: Responsible for planning and implementing activities for youth in the area of sports and recreation, health and fitness, cultural and youth educational programming.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) is required. Two years’ experience working with youth is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Plan a wide range of diverse activities for youth that will consist of recreational sports, health, fitness, cultural, education and prevention programming. Implement programs and trainings or identify instructors and resources to accommodate these programs. Schedule youth programs in all required areas and age groups.

Summary: Works with Heritage Sites personnel to conduct archaeological field and laboratory work.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). Some post-secondary education preferred. No previous archaeological experience is required, but a familiarity with outdoor activities is strongly recommended.

Duties/Responsibilities: Conduct archaeological fieldwork, including shovel testing, pedestrian survey and formal excavation (must be prepared to carry water and lunch on your person while conducting survey in remote locations). Access to vehicles may be restricted as many areas are only accessible on foot. Completes daily field survey notes, describing project, survey strategies, environmental and topographic conditions and vegetation. May also be required to complete archaeological site forms.

Summary: Responsible for transporting youth and coaching all sports within the program, also responsible for promoting health and fitness for youth as well as adults.

Duties/Responsibilities: Plan a wide range of diverse activities for youth that will consist of recreational sports, health and fitness. Implement programs and trainings or identify instructors and resources to accommodate the programs. Programming will require the working of evening and weekends to address youth interest. Provide and maintain a monthly calendar of programs for the Sports Manager.

Summary: To provide a safe and secure environment for shelter residents and shelter staff.

Duties/Responsibilities: Protect shelter residents & employees along with property from all hazards.
Enforce Shelter Rules and Policies at all times. Access control to areas that contain confidentiality. Routine patrol to provide general and equal coverage.

Summary: The Shelter Advocate serves as facilitator for individuals and families of the LLHS, performing all day-to-day intakes, assessment and operations such as helping people achieve self-sufficiency including setting goals and accessing resources and referrals for employment, childcare and housing opportunities.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) is required.
Associates Degree from an accredited college in human services field preferred, or equivalent leadership experience directly related to supervisory tasks in group/residential setting preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with ordering, purchasing and preparing all food and supplies for the Shelter. Assist Shelter Manager with new client application, interview and intake process. Ensure flow of critical information including documentation and shift change to bring forward issues and occurrences that take place while on shift.

Summary: Computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounts payable records by performing the following duties.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with 2 to 4 years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. A.A. degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices, checks and substantiating transactions. Computes leases and all reoccurring payables on a monthly basis. Prepares vouchers, invoices, and other records for accuracy. Monitors loans to ensure that payments are up to date. Reconciles statements.

Summary: The Professional Development Coordinator will be responsible for implementing an effective & efficient professional development system for the Leech Lake Head Start and Early Head Start programs that ensures quality practices for staff in their role of educating children and engaging families.

Education/Experience: Possess an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Human Resources related field preferred. Experience working in the Early Childhood field and within the community.

Duties/Responsibilities: Coordinate pre-service and in-service training activities in all content areas for Leech Lake Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) according to Leech Lake Licensing Standards. Track and input all training in the Child Plus data management system and other systems as necessary. Meet with Program Managers on a periodic basis to discuss Individual Professional Development Plans & determine training needs.

Summary: Safely and courteously operate Compactor truck while assisting in the development of the LLBO Solid Waste collection and disposal operations.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.) is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Operate compactor truck and assist helper when necessary. Maintain accurate record of truck maintenance performed. Basic repair to truck when necessary. Responsible for keeping truck sanitized, neat and orderly. Maintain daily mileage logs. Daily safety checks on all trucks and equipment. Daily time record; man hours worked, nature of work and equipment used.

Summary: Responsible for overseeing the budget process and preparing the necessary items for budget committee meetings. Assist with maintaining the general ledger and ensuring necessary reporting is submitted on time.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field; Or Associates Degree in Accounting, or related field, and four years of related experience; Knowledge of government accounting standards, tribal government experience preferred; Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP).

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining the general ledger and preparing financial statements. Assist in monitoring and supervising the program/grant accounting, both internal and external reporting. Participate in budget preparation and review.

Summary: Responsible for assisting counselor to identify individual client needs, learning to design effective treatment/aftercare plans and providing individual and group counseling in order to assist in the recovery from chemical dependency.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.) is required. Must obtain Rule 25 Assessor Certification within six (6) months of hire.

Duties/Responsibilities: Documents and maintains clients’ participation and progress using approved charting systems. Assists in developing additional treatment/aftercare plans with professional staff. Provides referrals to clients on available resources and services within the reservation and surrounding counties. Prior to completion of client’s final week, schedules and explains follow-up services recommended for continued recovery.

Summary: Responsible for the creation of records & archives management system, including storage and retrieval, digitization and preservation of all pertinent governmental records/documents and historic materials.

Duties/Responsibilities: Establish new records and archives management system. Developing, maintaining, verifying and evaluating existing systems. Overseeing the switch from paper to electronic record keeping.

Summary: Responsible for the coordination of planning projects. Responsible for administrative and clerical support to the Grant Writers, Planners, Operations Manager and Division Director.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist the Planning staff in the development and advocacy of the reservations comprehensive social economic development programs, plans and ventures. Responsible for assisting in research, conducting studies, developing plans and strategies for reservation development projects.

Summary: Responsible for maintaining supplies and planning/preparing meals at the Halfway House to ensure a healthy and nutritionally balanced diet for all residents.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D.).

Duties/Responsibilities: Verifies number of diners for each meal, plans each meal for each day. Prepares meals to meet nutritional guidelines. Cleans kitchen equipment and appliances daily, ensures that table is set, dishes cleared, dishwasher stacked and unstacked following each meal.

Summary: The Associate Tribal Attorney has the primary responsibility of assisting the Legal Department Director with analysis for ongoing legal cases and issues in a broad spectrum of practice areas central to the needs of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.

Education/Experience: Juris Doctorate Degree. Entry-level candidate with 0 to 3 years of experience preferred, but all qualified applicants will be considered. A strong knowledge and understanding of a variety of issues, including but not limited to matters of business law, insurance law, tax law, corporate law, finance law, contract law, gaming law, employment law, environmental law. Strong governmental and administrative skills, knowledge and abilities.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provide analysis for ongoing legal cases and issues including Business Transactions, Finance, Gaming, Government Affairs, Litigation, Environmental Law and Policy, Energy, Natural Resources, Taxation, Tribally controlled schools and colleges, and Tribal Housing. Responsible for accomplishing all directives in a timely manner, anticipating and preventing concerns and issues that may arise. Researches and drafts complex legal opinions, prepares drafts of contracts, notices, ordinances, codes, resolutions and other legal documents.

Duties/Responsibilities: Complete student records and reports accurately, reports include: running logs, observations, TSG (individual student progress information), data entry, incident/accident forms, etc. Assist in keeping classroom sanitary, organized and inviting. Summary: The Food Service Coordinator is responsible to ensure the children and families nutritional needs are being met through daily nutrition requirements and education.

Education/Experience: Bachelor or Associates Degree in Nutrition preferred or a minimum of 3- 5 years in supervising staff in a food management position.

Duties/Responsibilities: Maintain and track all vendor invoices and submit for payment. Plan, purchase and maintain proper receiving of food to assure variety, quality and cost control. Be knowledgeable with the guidelines and reporting requirements of the Child and Adult Care Food Program. Train, evaluate and provide general guidance to the Cooks. Provide support to cooks in kitchen when needed.

Implementing the Creative Curriculum and Ojibwe Culture and language into the classroom.

Summary: Responsible for assisting the DRM Botanist with a multitude of projects throughout the field season. Many of these projects deal with the control of invasive species found within the Leech Lake Reservation and Chippewa National Forest.

Education/Experience: Preference for individuals who have a B.S. degree in Natural Resources Management, Biology, Forestry or equivalent studies. Proven experience as a good crew leader is also desired.

Duties/Responsibilities: Work under the direction of DRM Botanist to implement a variety of control methods for invasive species (mechanical control, bio-control release, etc.). Complete work and tasks in a timely manner as directed by the DRM Botanist. Collect field data for the purpose of progress reports, plus maintain a daily log of activities.

Summary: To provide assistance, guidance, and support to the programs sponsored by the Leech Lake Tribal Council in the areas of community and development, as well as grant writing and management.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in: planning, business or public administration or related field. Experience in grant writing, grant management, program planning and program administration. Experience in tribal government preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist the Tribal Council and its divisions in the development and advocacy of the Reservation’s comprehensive social and economic development programs, plans and ventures. Responsible for initiating research, conducting studies, developing plans and strategies for Reservation development projects. Coordinate the development of short and long term plans for Reservation resources, including community development, housing, transportation, and infrastructure.

Summary: Police Officers protect life and property, preserve the peace, prevent offenses, detect and apprehend offenders and help those in need of assistance.

Education/Experience: No previous Law Enforcement experience required. Must have successfully completed; Basic Police Training Program and/or program provided by a Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.

Duties/Responsibilities: Promote crime prevention and undertake community-policing activities to improve quality of community life. Patrol assigned areas within the Reservation, including all communities, housing areas, roadways and waterways, federal and tribal buildings on foot or in vehicles to check security of property and watch for unusual activity. Maintain daily log sheets, reports, investigations, citations etc.

Summary: Responsible to provide safe, clean and properly functioning buildings and grounds of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe facilities and property for guests and staff.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) preferred. Six months to one year of general experience.

Duties/Responsibilities: Must practice safety precautions and be safety conscious at all times. Performs grounds care, including but not limited to, mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, fertilizing, watering, reseeding, applying fungicides, herbicides, insecticides and sterilants; sweeping walks and drives; patching parking lots and drives; repairing signs, snow removal, spreading sand, salt or ice melt. Operates, maintains power and non-powered grounds care equipment.

Summary: Peer recovery coaches will support addicts in recovery from opioid use disorder. Coaches will build strong networks to provide sober recreation and socialization for individuals and families.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). At least one year of work experience that can be At least one year of work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed on the job description. Have a minimum of one year in recovery from substance abuse disorder.

Duties/Responsibilities: One on one coaching and support to those in need. Responds as needed to referrals from community stakeholders. Facilitate a community based peer support group. Participate in staff, community and program meetings.

Summary: Assist Construction Manager with organizing, plans, and coordinates assigned major LLBO construction projects.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering preferred with six years of increasingly responsible experience in civil engineering and/or extensive experience in the construction field is required.

Duties/Responsibilities: Review plans, engineering reports and proposed ordinances submitted by division heads. Assist Construction Manager on Tribal programs related to construction. Develop cost estimates for construction jobs.

Summary: This position supervises resident compliances with program rules and regulations during program manager’s absence and provides approved transportation for residents.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D).

Duties/Responsibilities: Cook, wash dishes, grocery shopping and cleaning when needed. Distribute, monitor and document clients prescribed medication. Assist with office duties when needed. Monitors, supervises and documents daily resident activities and behaviors.

Summary: Compliance Legal Officer will work on revising and amending the Utility Service and Rights-of-way Trespass Ordinance and on implementing/enforcing the Ordinance as directed by the Commission and the Reservation Tribal Council.

Education/Experience: Professional Law Degree from an accredited law school (J.D). Undergraduate college degree. High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). Experience with tribal and federal Indian law.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist the TERO Commission and TERO office with drafting amendments, resolutions, correspondence, notices and other documents, research Federal, State and Tribal TERO issues and keep up-to-date on TERO issues, attend Commission meetings or hearings when requested, assist with TERO collection matters.

Summary: Responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services designed to maintain the clients’ physical and emotional well-being for those clients living at Red Cedar Assisted Living Center. This position assists clients with tasks of daily living as indicated on the Service Agreement, the Electronic Health Record (EHR), and other services as delegated by the RN.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). CNA/HHA Certification required

Duties/Responsibilities: Understand standard precautions used for infection control and adhere to them.
Follow policy and procedure for administrating medications PRN standing orders. Assist clients with activities of daily living as indicated on their individual service agreement (including but not limited to dressing, showering, grooming, toilet assistance, and escorting). Assist clients with daily room order and light housekeeping.

Summary: Under direct supervision, reviews and coordinates routine purchase requests in accordance with Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe policies and applicable Tribal and Federal Laws.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) is required. One to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Reviews, obtains approval, and processes purchasing requests such as Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders for goods or services to ensure compliance with the LLBO purchasing procedures and user requirements. Prepares requests for; simple bids, requests for quotes, and proposals.

BCA REQUIRED

Summary: Responsible for developing and implementing the Child Care Aware Minnesota (CCA) Baseline Contract throughout Leech Lake Service Area.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood is required. Minimum one-year experience working in the Early Childhood Development field is required. Experience working within the tribal community is preferred. Experience/skills in public relations and public speaking are preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare reports on local program activities and share as necessary. Review budget forecasts and be familiar with financial needs to services offered. Identify agencies to develop relationships in order to share program information, determine support needs and resources and coordinate work and activities. Increase access to information and services to low income families, English language learners, families and providers from diverse cultural/ethnic communities and families, friends and neighbor caregivers.

VALID CLASS B DRIVER’S LICENSE, SIGNED MVR FORM

Summary: Ensure that all reservation roads are maintained.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D). Required to have sufficient experience in the operation of various types of heavy equipment (bulldozers, front-end loaders, etc.), enabling them to work independently and with minimum supervision.

Duties/Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment to push, pile or load materials, such as sand, earth, gravel or refuse. Operate a front-end loader from 1 ½ ton to a 4 cubic yard capacity. Operate a tandem dump truck equipped with a snow plow and wing for snow removal on either gravel or bituminous surface roadways and hauls gravel for resurfacing or patching weak areas. Operate a heavy duty truck tractor and low-boy to haul heavy equipment to maintain projects throughout the Leech Lake Reservation.

Summary: This position supervises resident compliances with program rules and regulations during counselor absence and provides approved transportation for residents.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D).

Duties/Responsibilities: Cook, wash dishes, grocery shopping and clean upstairs area for clients when cook is not available. Distribute, monitor and document clients prescribed medication. Monitors, supervises and documents daily resident activities and behaviors. Provides active support to residents’ sobriety goals.

Summary: Responsible for preforming duties in a community based clinical setting related to the certification of clients for the Minnesota Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with a major in any of the following: nutritional sciences; community nutrition; clinical nutrition; dietetics; public health nutrition; or related field. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Diet Technician Registered (DTR) required. Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Minnesota, or ability to attain licensure in Minnesota within 60 days, will also be considered.

Duties/Responsibilities: Duties would include assessments, counseling, referrals, promotion, and education in breastfeeding and nutrition. Conduct certifications for pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children up 5 years of age. Take anthropometric measurements of WIC participants. Accurately assess nutritional needs and make recommendations consistent with sound nutritional practice and client’s ability to implement.

Summary: Works with women (prenatal and post-partum) at the highest risk for having poor birth outcomes; providing home visits, acting as a referral source for clients, making physical assessments, screening for risk factors and setting goals for the client with follow-up made through the first three years of the child’s life.

Education/Experience: Licensed Registered Nursing or Public Health Nursing Certification is required. Prefer experience in Public Health but are willing to train for position.

Duties/Responsibilities: Provide high quality health care services and ensure accessibility and availability of health services. Provides services for identified prenatal population of the Leech Lake Reservation. Makes physical assessments; screening for risk factors; case management, smoking status assessment, housing assessment, domestic violence assessment, depression screening and substance abuse assessment.

Duties/Responsibilities: Assist the Tribal Council and its divisions in the development and advocacy of the Reservation’s comprehensive social and economic development programs, plans and ventures. Responsible for initiating; research,

Summary: Provide primary health care services within the Tribal operated, community based clinics.

Education/Experience: Minnesota State License of Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) is required. Two years of primary health care experience in a tribally operated, Indian Health Service Program, or rural clinic is preferred.

Summary: Will provide counseling services to American Indian adults, children, and families who reside on or near the Leech Lake Reservation. Services are based on individual, child, and family needs and are offered at varying levels of involvement, such as crisis intervention, individual and family counseling sessions, school based services, family and community support services, and mental health assessments.

Education/Experience: Master Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field and on track for licensure as a Mental Health Professional. Licensed Graduate Social Worker (L.G.S.W.) or Licensed Professional Counselor (L.P.C.) preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities: Develops and implements Individual Treatment Plans (ITP) with clients according to the diagnostic assessment and mental health providers input. Completes psycho-social, functional, and behavioral assessments, to include a basic assessment of risk. Provide weekly individual and/or family therapy for clients. Provide therapeutic groups and activities as needed under the components of Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports (CTSS).

Summary: This position will provide coordination of crisis services for both children and adults who reside on or near the Leech Lake Reservation. The position will involve coordination of suicide prevention, developing and implementing suicide prevention programs.

Education/Experience: Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field. 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness. Prefer Master Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.

Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for coordination of Mental Health crisis line and crisis teams. Provide follow up surveys to consumers from crisis calls received to the crisis line and Leech Lake Behavioral Health. Follow up with all crisis contracted employees a minimum of one time per month. Set up quarterly crisis training for advocates and crisis team members.
