Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Announces Community Meeting on Cannabis Business Project

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe is set to host a community meeting for band members to discuss the latest developments regarding our cannabis business initiatives. The meeting, scheduled for 5:30PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Cedar Lakes Event Center in Cass Lake, will provide band members with an opportunity to learn about the current status of this project,  steps taken towards launching a cannabis retail business, and the broader impact on the community.

Representatives from the Cannabis Regulatory Commission and the Cannabis Business Board of Directors will present their latest updates and future plans, underscoring the project’s commitment to transparency and community involvement.

The agenda for the meeting includes a presentation on the current progress of the cannabis initiatives, a discussion on the upcoming steps to open and operate a retail cannabis outlet, and a question-and-answer session designed to solicit feedback and address community concerns.
