Weekly updates will be released to keep our Band Members updated on Tribal projects/ divisions and anything from the federal level that may impact us. Print versions of Friday updates will be available monthly in the DeBahJimon
Employees and Community members can begin submitting news, events, and updates to be included in the week’s update every Monday. Updates can be sent to [email protected]
Chi Miigwech to everyone who submitted updates for this week. This week the band held the DRM Earth Day celebration, announced changes to the health division phone lines, and alerted community members about a scam going around the community.
Phone Lines
The Health Division phone lines are currently down as Paul Bunyan crews are digging to remove old landlines in preparation for the switch to internet-based phone service (VoIP).
Currently, the Health Division can only receive calls from within the LLBO organization—calls from outside are not coming through.
There is no timeline for when full service will be restored, but updates will be shared as soon as possible.
Scam Alert
The Band has been made aware of fraudulent advertisements circulating online that falsely claim Northern Lights Casino is offering a $1500 bonus to Minnesota residents through a mobile app. These ads are NOT affiliated with Northern Lights Casino, the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, or any of our official gaming operations.
Online gambling is not available at Northern Lights Casino or through any other official Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe gaming enterprise. If you see an ad claiming otherwise, it is a scam.
Do not click on suspicious ads or download unknown apps.
Official updates and promotions will only be shared on our verified pages
If you spot one of these scam ads, report it immediately and help us protect our community.
If any ad, post, or email is asking you to bet on poker, blackjack, or any slot-type machines on your computer or phone, it’s a scam.
We are NOT affiliated with any websites, apps, or platforms that claim to offer these online gambling services.
