Summer Food Program begins June 11

The Leech Lake Early Childhood Program is once again participating in the Summer Food Service Program. The program begins on June 11th and runs through August 9th, 2018. Meals will be provided to all children ages 1-18 years old, free of charge and meet nutritional standards established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The program will run from Monday through Thursday each week from Noon to 1pm at the following locations:

  • Inger Community Center, 53736 County Road 146, Deer River, MN
  • Ball Club Community Center, 30957 Artic Road, Deer River, MN
  • Sugar Point Community Center, 10103 Battle Point Road, Federal Dam, MN
  • Onigum Head Start Center, 8831 Onigum Road, Walker, MN
  • Bena Head Start Center, 15085 Old Housing Drive NE, Bena, MN
  • Prescott Community Center, 67344 White Stone Trail NW, Cass Lake, MN
  • Boy Lake Park, 2009 Ghe-We-Zance-Ce Lane, Remer, MN

Scheduled Site Closures: June 11th – Boy Lake Park, June 12th  & 18th  – All sites, July 4th, 5th, & 6th – All sites

The Cass Lake School District is also participating in this program. They have asked us to disseminate the following information:
Breakfast will be served from 8:00am to 9:30am and lunch from 11:00am to 12:30pm Monday-Thursday, at Cass Lake Bena Elementary, 15 4th St NW Cass Lake, MN. This site is scheduled to be closed on July 4th and 5th. For more information on the Cass Lake site, call 335-2201
